چکیده

April 01, 1996 | Breast Cancer [1] Sequential dosing may improve the effectiveness of adjuvant chemotherapy regimens in node-positive breast cancer, by limiting overlapping toxicity while maximizing dose-intensity, Clifford A. Hudis, MD, said at the Chemotherapy Foundation's 13th annual symposium. At Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where Dr. Hudis is assistant attending physician in the Breast Cancer Medicine Service, researchers are testing a sequential dosing regimen that combines doxorubicin, paclitaxel (Taxol), and cyclophosphamide, supported by granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF, Neupogen).

Expression of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Protein in Human Breast Cancer

Background & Objectives: Anaplastic lymphoma Kinase (ALK) is a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in the genesis of several human cancers. ALK was initially identified because of its involvement in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). ALK is believed to foster tumorigenesis following activation by autocrine and/or paracrine growth loops. Studies reveal that the presence of anti-ALK antibodies ...

LYMPH NODE REVEALING SOLUTION: A NEW USEFUL METHOD FOR ISOLATION OF MINUTE AXILLARY LYMPH NODES IN BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the world. The most important prognostic factor in this cancer is the stage of the tumor. Detection of lymph nodes with or without malignancy is essential for determining the stage of the tumor and setting a therapeutic plan. There are different methods for isolating lymph nodes in surgical specimens of breast cancer in the pathology ...

Standardization of whole breast radiotherapy is required for safe omission of axillary lymph node dissection in breast cancer patients

Background: The purpose of this study was to assess the dose distribution and coverage of level Ⅰ-Ⅱ axillary lymph nodes during whole breast tangential field radiotherapy (RT) after breast-conserving surgery in patients with breast cancer. Materials and Methods: The level Ⅰ-Ⅱ axillary lymph node volumes were retrospectively contoured by a single radiation oncologist based on computed tomography...

Sequential dose-dense adjuvant therapy with doxorubicin, paclitaxel, and cyclophosphamide.

The recognition of paclitaxel's (Taxol) activity and non-cross-resistance with doxorubicin (Adriamycin) in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer has motivated study of the agent in the adjuvant setting. However, the ideal means of incorporating this new agent is not yet known. In stage IV disease, exciting results have been seen with combinations of doxorubicin plus paclitaxel, and this app...
